Hello, welcome to my website.
My name is Samantha Kynaston. I am a fully qualified psychotherapist with over 15 years experience. I provide psychotherapy and counselling in a safe, supportive, professional and confidential setting in Chorlton, South Manchester.
If you're reading this then you're probably struggling with an aspect in your life at the moment. Maybe you feel stressed, anxious, are feeling down all the time or feel overwhelmed by life and unable to cope with your feelings. Perhaps you keep making the same mistakes but don't know how to change this. There are different ways of dealing with such issues and the emotional problems of life. Psychotherapy is one such way and can be a very powerful and empowering way of dealing with obstacles to a happy and fulfilling life. If you don't want to put up with the problems that you are having then maybe seeking the help and support of a fellow human being is the answer. Most people experience difficulties at some stage in their life and talking about them can help. Some examples of why people seek therapy include:
Anxiety Relationship problems Depression Low self esteem Stress Lack of confidence
Family Issues Meaninglessness Fear of death Grief A lack of control Loneliness
Feelings of being stuck Obsessional thinking/behaviour Bereavement Emotional problems
Bipolar disorder Generalised anxiety disorder
Also neurodiversity: ADHD and autism. More and more people are getting diagnosed - or considering diagnosis - as adults, having thought for all of their life that there was something wrong with them. Such a diagnosis can bring up feelings of relief as well as grief. I have direct experience of neurodiversity both in my family and with the clients that I work with.
With me you will have the opportunity to discuss and explore your difficulties and problems and find ways to grow and change.
I also offer EMDR (eye movement de-sensitisation and reprocessing) therapy. This works by stimulating alternate sides of the brain to allow the reprocessing of older (often traumatic) events so that they no longer cause problems in the present. See the Therapy page for more information.
